ARTICLE CARRYING IN/OUT DEVICE BY STACKER CRANE

PURPOSE:To carry articles in and from a rack promptly by a stacker crane provided with a chain transfer mechanism even if the length of a pallet to be handled is various. CONSTITUTION:In a stacker crane provided with a lifting base 4 at a frame 3 which can travel along a rack 1 and which can carry a pallet 12 in and from the rack 1, a shifter 7 which can travel in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction is mounted at the lifting base 4. The shifter 7 is provided with an engagement head 9 which is carried in and out by the rising operation from the lower side for the pallet 12 and is engaged in both the directions. The engagement head 9 is provided with plural engagement claw pairs arranged at such intervals as hook members on both ends in the traveling direction of the pallet 12 can be fallen in. The positions of the intervals between engagement claw pairs are arranged, shifted each other in the traveling direction of the pallet 12, and the respective engagement claws are constituted so as to travel elastically downwards.
