Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To obtain a new polycarbonate excellent in resistance to heat and solvents, thus useful as a raw material for electrical and electronic parts or mechanical parts, etc., by using, aromatic diols including bisnaphthalenediol as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:This polycarbonate can be obtained by reaction of aromatic diols including bisnaphthalenediol of formula I (pref., 2,2'-bisnaphthyl-6,6'-diol) with phosgene (derivative). The resin has the following characteristics: (1) carbonate structural unit of formula II accounts for 1-100mol% of the total amount of the polycarbonate structural units; (2) reduced viscosity: 0.1-3dl/g at a concentration of 0.2g/dl, determined at 60 deg.C in the form of a p-chlorophenol solution; or (3) melt flow rate: 0.1-500g/100min determined at 280 deg.C under a load of 2.16kg. The aromatic diol other than the compound of the formula I to be used is pref. bisphenol A. |
