Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce difference in the brightness, to increase contrast, and to facilitate formation of a phosphor layer by providing a conductive layer between the negative electrodes that are in close proximity with one another three-dimensionally, and by making the conductive layer of opaque color. CONSTITUTION:A band-shape transparent positive electrode 2 is formed on a front surface substrate 1, while a black-colored conductive layer 3 is formed on the positive electrode, and glass pastes containing black pigment are formed to the height of the conductive layer 3, as a barrier 4, on both sides of the positive electrode 2. A quadrilateral measure having side walls of the same height is thus formed for each cell. A paste containing a phosphor emitting red color is screenprinted on a certain positive electrode, and a paste containing a phosphor emitting green color is screen- printed on the adjacent positive electrode, while a paste containing a phosphor emitting blue color is screen-printed on the adjacent positive electrode, to form phosphor layers 51, 52, 53 of red, green, and blue. A trigger electrode 7 is formed on a back surface substrate 6, on which a band-shape negative electrode is formed through an insulating layer 8. The substrates 1 and 6 are superimposed on one another and sealed together, and a specific gas is sealed in a space part 10. A discharge panel is thus provided.
