RETRIEVAL SYSTEM FOR CONTAINER IN CONTAINER YARD

PURPOSE:To retrieve containers without decreasing safety and efficiency of cargo handling work by reading an identifier attached to each container by means of a self-traveling cargo handling system. CONSTITUTION:In retrieving the placed locations of containers 2 in a container yard l, the identification code of an objective container 2 is inputted and memorized in a control device 40 in a container cargo handling system 6. Next, the container cargo handling system 6 is travelled along the containers of each lane to subsequently read identifiers. The information is transmitted to the control device 40. The control device 40 transmits a detected signal for the container 2 to be retrieved when tire identification information of the container 2 to be retrieved corresponds to the read information. Therefore, the retrieval of the container 2 is done while performing cargo handling work even if the container 2 is missing. Thus, no cargo handling efficiency will be decreased.
