Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enhance reliability by alternately forming concentric circle-shaped regions having high surface energy and concentric circle-shaped regions having low surface energy on the surface of a magnetic disk substrate made of a nonmagnetic body in the radial direction. CONSTITUTION:A washed Ni-P substrate is concentrically treated with UV to produce the objective magnetic disk substrate 1. A magnetic disk using the substrate 1 treated with UV at a short pitch of =1 ratio in coercive force and magnetic anisotropy is imparted. The attraction of the magnetic disk to a magnetic head is avoided even in the case of low levitation of the magnetic head and high levitation stability of the magnetic head can be ensured.
