COMPOSITE HOLLOW MEMBER HAVING OPTIMIZED MATERIAL AT EACH POSITION AND MANUFACTURE OF THE SAME

PURPOSE:To provide a cylinder material having good properties in general especially resistace to breakage by forming lining materials in a layer structure in a state in which the materials are arranged in the radial and/or longitudinal direction, or arranged randomly. CONSTITUTION:Different kinds of lining allay powders 3, 4, 5 are packed in the inside of a hollow base material 2 to form a layer structure in a state in which they are arranged in the radial and/or longitudinal direction, or arranged randomly. The packed part, after being sealed and deaerated, is sintered to form a lining layer. When more than one kind of the lining alloy powder is packed in the inside of the hollow base material 2 to form a layer structure in the longitudinal direction, if there exists a large difference in the coefficient of linear expansion between the base material 2 and the lining material, a lining alloy powder with an intermediate coefficient of linear expansion is arranged between the two. In this way, a cylinder having good properties is obtained.
