DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a display means performing prescribed displays other than a screen from being the eyesore of the screen and to prevent the display of the display means from being difficult to be seen by adjusting the brightness of the display means according to the luminance level of the screen. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent display tube (CH display) 16 is provided on the lower part of the screen of a CRT 10 and displays the channel number supplied from a selecting station system microcomputer 14. A brightness adjusting circuit 18 adjusts the brightness of the fluorescent display tube, 16 by changing the value of a variable resistance and by changing voltage-E to be supplied to the fluorescent display tube 16 according to brightness control voltage to be supplied from the microcomputer 14. When the brightness control voltage outputted from the microcomputer 14 becomes large, the brightness of the screen of the CRT 10 becomes bright, the absolute value of voltage-E outputted from the brightness adjusting circuit 18 becomes large and the brightness of the fluorescent display tube 16 becomes bright. Therefore, the brightness of the fluorescent display tube 16 can be compatible to the brightness of the screen of the CRT 10.
