DOCUMENT PROCESSOR AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE:To maintain the interchangeability of a document between new and old machine sorts by making it possible to process document information to which specific information having different data structure is added by the old machine sort. CONSTITUTION:Document information to which additional information is added is inputted through a keyboard 11, the document information is stored in a document buffer 13a in a RAM 13 and the additional information is stored in an additional buffer 13b in the RAM 13. A document storing instruction is inputted, the document information is stored in an FDD 14 by its inputted file name and the additional information is stored also in the FDD 14 by adding an extender to the file name. When a document accessing instruction is inputted, the document information is accessed from the FDD 14 by the inputted file name and the additional information is accessed from the FDD 14 by the file name provided with the expander. Consequently when specific information having different data structure is added to document information by a new machine sort, only the document information can be accessed by an old machine sort having no function for adding an extender to a file name.
