Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To fit a covering body to a cable quickly and efficiently by attaching a half-split fitting device to a covering body borne on a cable followed by drawing up the device from one end of the cable to the other end by a relevant means. CONSTITUTION:A covering body 9 with a pair of half-split cover pieces 25, 26 is attached to one end of a cable 3 stretchedly suspended in such a manner as to rise from one end of its axial line direction toward the other end and a half-split fitting device 1 is attached to this covering body 9. The device 1 is then drawn up from one end of the cable 3 to the other end by a relevant means to attach the respective covering bodies 9 to the cable 3 in a successive way, and the respective covering bodies 9 are energetized in such a direction as to near mutually while drawing down the device 1 again; and the clicks 27, 28 of one of the cover pieces 25 are forced into the click holes 29, 30 of the other cover piece 26 to sandwichedly fit the cable 3 with the respective cover pieces, thus fitting the cable 3 with the respective covering bodies 9 quickly and efficiently.
