SPINDLE

PURPOSE: To simply mount or remove a spindle by constituting the spindle of many axially aligned tensioning spindles in the spindle for driving a tensioning unit belonging to a cylinder of a printer. CONSTITUTION: A tensioning spindle 14 is divided, for example, into tensioning segments 14.1, 14.2, 14.3,... having the same lengths. A first end 29 of the segment 14.1 is engaged within a rack 18 at a side having engaging teeth 17 opposed to a bottom plate of the segment 14.1, a second end 30 and a first end 31 of the segment 14.2 are engaged within a rack 19, a second end 32 and a first end 33 of the segment 14.3 are engaged within a rack 21, a second end 34 and a first end of the fourth segment are engaged within a rack 22, and the second end is engaged within a rack. During holding work, the segments 14.1,... are removed from an intermediate chamber in a cylinder groove 1 between a device 3 and the cylinder pillow. The intermediate chamber is provided between an end of the device 3 having no cylinder pillow and a side frame.
