INTERMITTENT COATING METHOD AND APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To prevent the local increase of a coating amt. at the terminal part of a coating section and to make thickness constant over the whole of the coating section with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:The interval between a controller 4 and a C-roll 1 is changed over to two large and small stages at every appropriate time and the thick coating material layer 6a on the C-roll 1 controlled by such a state that the interval between the controller 4 and the C-roll 1 is large is transferred and applied to a base material sheet 3 in such a state that the C-roll 1 and a B-roll 2 are brought to a mutual contact state through a base material sheet 3. Further, the interval between the C-roll 1 and the B-roll 2 is widened in the timing matched with such a state that the thin coating material layer 6c on the C-roll 1 controlled by such a state that the interval between the controller 4 and the C-roll 1 is small reaches a transfer position to prevent the transfer and application of the coating material to the base material sheet 3.
