PURPOSE:To prevent a cartridge from dropping by arranging a rear wall to be slightly inclined backward with its upper side from the perpendicular direction and arranging a tray with a cartridge mounting surface at right angles to this rear wall. CONSTITUTION:The tray 76 has the cartridge mounting surface 76a on its upper part, and in order to make the tray mounting surface 76a substantially at right angles with the rear wall 68, the tray 76 is slidably fitted to the rear wall. Since a tray assembly 64 is thus constituted, a magnetic tape cartridge 10 dropped from a cartridge carrier mechanism 62 is normally engaged in a recess provided on the upper surface with a protrusion formed on the bottom surface, and plural cartridges 10 are orderly stacked up on the tray 76.
