Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To efficiently decentralize control functions among various nodes of the packet switching network, etc., by extending a 1-bit copy flag included in the network header of a packet into a multi-bit field of a copy ID field. CONSTITUTION: The network header of the packet consists of fields 38, 40, 42, and 44 of control bytes 1 and 2 and a line specification and redundancy check byte. The field 38 specifies automatic network route indication(ANR), tree multicasting(TMM), etc., and the priority of a message, etc. Then a copy function is specified with four bits of the copy ID field of the field 40 and specifies network control functions, i.e., bandwidth reservation of forward/ backward paths, set management, tree maintenance, etc. Consequently, the control functions can be decentralized efficiently among processors of various nodes of the packet switching network, etc., as compared with a 1-bit copy flag.
