CONSTITUTION:Solution heat treatment for a titanium-contg. austenitic stainless steel pipe is executed in such a manner that, while water or substance contg. water by the amt. in which the volume of steam at 100 deg.C under one atmospheric pressure is regulated to 2 to 50 times the content volume of the steel pipe 31 is held at the inside of a steel pipe 3 in which one end or both ends are opened, it is inserted into a heat treating furnace. In this way, the solution heat treatment can be executed without inhibiting the growth of austenitic grains and without deteriorating its corrosion resistance.
