Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent the invasion of a lubricating oil attached to the sliding surface of a cross head to a distance chamber in a heat engine. CONSTITUTION:At the lower part of a piston ring 9b installed to a cross head 3 connected to a power piston 4, a communicating pipe 14 to communicate the sliding part of the cross head 3 and a buffer chamber 7 is provided, and the oil accumulated in the sliding part of the cross head 3 is returned to the buffer chamber 7. On the other hand, a gas including the oil from the buffer chamber 7 cannot invade to the sliding part of the cross head 3 through the communicating pipe 14, because a check valve 15 is provided in the communicating pipe 14.
