CONSTITUTION:One logical volume 21 is divided into plural logical volumes 19 and 20. The respective logical volumes 19 and 20 are present in the same physical volume or different physical volumes. Only one super block 6 is present in one logical volume and holds information on the physical positions of all logical subordinate volumes belonging to the logical volume and the sizes, etc., of free areas by the logical subordinate volumes. In a logical subordinate volume 19, plural files are hierarchically controlled by a directory 14 and a node 13. When no free area is present in the logical subordinate volumes registered in the super block 6, a new logical subordinate volume is structured and its physical information is registered in the super block 6 to expand the data storage area. |
