Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To facilitate mounting of a decorative piece by a method wherein an engaging protrusion formed in a manner to protrude from the under surface of the decorative piece is pressed in a throughhole, formed in the central part of the ceiling wall of a core, through a leather and engaged with the back of the ceiling wall. CONSTITUTION:A leather-wound gear shift knob comprises a core 12 having a screw hole 11, formed in a central part and capable of being joined in a screwed-in state with the tip of a gear shift lever, and a hollow pat 10 provided at an upper end with a ceiling wall 24; an intermediate member 13 with which the outer periphery of the core 12 is wrapped; and a leather skin member 3 with which the outer periphery of the intermediate member 13 is surrounded. A through-hole 25 extending to the hollow part 10 is formed in the central part of the ceiling wall 24. The tip large part 29 of an engaging protrusion 20 protruded from the under surface of a decorative piece 5 is pressed in the through-hole 25 through the leather skin member 3 to engage the large part 29 with the back 26 of the ceiling wall 24. When the through-hole 19 of a central leather 16 is caused to coincide with the engaging hole 25 of the core 12 and the protrusion part 20 of the decorative piece 5 is pressed in from above, the tip large part 29 at the lower part of the protrusion part 20 is engaged through the engaging hole 25 with the back 26 of the ceiling wall 24. The decorative piece 5 and the central leather 16 are not only accurately registered with a mounting member 2 but also causes elimination of a surplus process. |
