Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prepare the skin roughness-reducing agent having an excellent reducing and improving effect on the irritation and damage of skin, especially on skin roughness caused by the employment of cleansors, etc., and further having a high moisture-retaining effect on the skin. CONSTITUTION:This skin roughness-reducing agent comprises a monoglyceride having a 16-24C pref. 16-22C fatty acid residue. This monoglyceride is preferably a glyceride having a melting point of >=30 deg.C, especially >=50 deg.C, and the fatty acid residue is preferably a saturated one. The skin roughness-reducing agent may be added to ordinary skin-cleaning agents such as skin-cleaning agent or hair shampoo, cosmetics such as cream or milky lotion, cutaneous agents, etc., preferably in a monoglyceride content of 1-20wt.%, especially 2-10wt.%.
