CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a camera 1 which photographs the license plate of a vehicle, an A/D conversion part 2 which converts its image into digital data, an image memory 3 which stores the data, a cutting part 4 which cuts a character string showing District Land Transport Bureau, etc., out of the data in the image memory 3, and a recognition part 5 which recognizes license plate information by collating the character string, etc., with registered data.
