Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To detect tire diameter which is mounted on a car accurately using an optical sensor. CONSTITUTION:Tire edges can be detected by an upper sensor group (10) and a lower sensor group (20) which are laid out corresponding to the height position of a tire mounted on a vehicle (30). The amount of deviation D of each detection position between the sensor groups (10, 20) is obtained by a tire diameter operation means (40-51) according to each output signal of the sensor groups (10, 20) when the tire edges are detected and then a tire diameter r is obtained based on the amount of deviation D.
