COMPOSITION FOR ORAL CAVITY APPLICATION

PURPOSE:To provide a composition for oral cavity application exhibiting high antibacterial activity on oral bacteria, having excellent usability and effective for the prevention and treatment of various diseases in the oral cavity (e.g. dental caries, foul breath and periodontosis). CONSTITUTION:The composition for oral cavity application contains (A) 0.001-1% (especially 0.01-0.5%) grape extract produced by extracting grape with a solvent, removing insoluble solid residue by a solid-liquid separation means and removing the solvent from the solvent-extract solution by vacuum distillation, etc., and (B) 0.005-1% (especially 0.01-0.5%) 1,8-cineole. The astringent taste of grape can be masked by the compounding of 1,8-cineole without lowering the antibacterial activity originated from the solvent extract of grape. Accordingly, the obtained composition for oral cavity application keeps high antibacterial activity and has remarkably improved usability. The composition is used in the form of a refreshing liquid for mouth such as dentifrice and mouth wash, a refreshing solid for mouth such as troche, a chewing gum, a pasta for oral cavity, etc.
