RECORDING AND REGENERATING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To provide a recording and reproducing device optimally recording and reproducing corresponding to the variation of the recording environment and the reproducing environment of data. CONSTITUTION: The recording and reproducing device recording digital data in a prescribed recording medium through the use of a recording head and reproduce-outputting recorded data through the use of a reproducing head is provided with a memory 50, modulation part 20, an envelope detector 60 and a clock generation part 65. In addition, the recording and reproducing device is provided with a recorder featured by fixing a data rate read from the memory 50 according to a clock signal and a modulation clock impressed to the modulation part 20 and a reproducing device with a detector 75, a PLL circuit 80, a demodulation part 30 and the memory 50. By optimally recording according to the tape or set even when the performance of the head, the tape or the set is different to some degree then, a user enjoy optimum picture and optimum sound quality and user's reliability is improved more in addition.
