Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enable the conduction of a stripping work in a tank of a chemical plant where the use of fire is prohibitive by mechanizing the work to strip the coating material applied on the inside surfaces, etc., of the tank, thereby facilitating the work, and thermally deteriorating the coating material without using fire. CONSTITUTION:This coating removing device A has a hanging base body 1 disposed in the tank. A working base body 2 is mounted horizontally turnably by means of a turning shaft 12 on the hanging base body 1. This working base body 2 has extensible and contractible hanging arm members 21 on both sides thereof. The hanging arm members 21 are freely liftably provided with stripping machines 3. These stripping machines 3 have induction heating coils 31 for heating metallic base materials by high-frequency induction and stripping cutters 32 for stripping the thermally deteriorated coating materials.
