Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide an inhibitor significantly inhibiting EBV-genome manifesta tion, thus applicable to the medical or preventive prescriptions for antiviral or anti-cancerous purpose, or applicable as health food or functional food. CONSTITUTION:The carcinogenic promotion inhibitor containing, as active ingredient, a sponge extract. The sponge extract can be obtained by extracting sponge with a hydrophilic solvent such as water or an alcohol; or, by further extractive fractionation of the above extract using one of various combinations of water, hydrophilic solvent and hydrophobic solvent. Each of the fractions is significant in EBV-genome manifestation inhibitory activity.
