Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide a recording paper sheet transporting mechanism for a printer which can shorten the time for the transport of a recording paper sheet, simplify the mechanism, and reduce the cost, by selecting the driving of a motor between a platen roller, second roller, and a pick-up roller, by the shift of a slide gear arranged on a guide shaft. CONSTITUTION:When a recording paper sheet is transported, a carrier 1 is shifted in the direction of arrow A, and a slide gear 15 is shifted in the direction of arrow A, and an idle gear 8, idle gear 10, and a slide gear 15 are connected. Accordingly, the turning moment of a motor 5 is transmitted to a pick-up roller 17, and one recording paper sheet 18 among the recording paper sheets piled in a hopper 19 is transported to the second roller 16. Then, the slide gear 15 is shifted in the direction of arrow B, and a platen gear 9, idle gear 8, and the slide gear 15 are connected. Accordingly, the turning moment of the motor 5 is transmitted to a platen roller 3 and the second roller 16, and the recording paper sheet 18 transported to the second roller 16 is transported to the platen roller 3.
