RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide the summary of the recording content of each program in a short time by recording parts displaying the characteristics of the video and sound signals of each program on an area immediately after a tape is started by a second format. CONSTITUTION:When a recording is made on the tape, whether an input signal is the one from an outside input terminal 91 or the one from a receiving circuit 92 for TV broadcasting and an output signal from an image signal memory circuit 79 is the one passing through a switch 8 and a superimposing circuit 93 or not are selected by a recording signal selecting switch 85, therein outputs are inputted to a recording circuit 82, transformed into a signs for recording on a magnetic tape here, passed through a recording/reproducing changing switch 83, supplied to the head of a travel controlling section 77 and recorded on the tape. The motor drive servo circuit 76 is controlled by a controlling section 95, the motor of the travel controlling section 77 is driven, the record traveling of the tape is started and a controlling pulse is generated.
