PURPOSE:To simplify the writing work to a printed document by displaying the data which read and stored the printed document and the data to be fed to obtain the input position information and storing and displaying said position information and the data to be fed with relation secured between them. CONSTITUTION:The character data supplied from a keyboard including a control key is stored in a character buffer 4 and also converted into a prescribed pattern by a pattern generator 9. Then the picture data read through an image scanner 8 is stored in a picture data buffer 5 and then stored in a display memory 11 together with the character data from the generator 9. These data are controlled by a controller 10 and displayed on a CRT12. Then a prescribed document is loaded on the scanner 8, and pictures are stored in the buffer 5 and also displayed on a CRT12. Then a cursor is shifted to a prescribed position and characters are supplied from a keyboard 2. These characters are stored in a buffer 4 and displayed via the generator 9 and the memory 11.
