Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To increase a pretilt angle and to improve liquid crystal resistance by forming the liquid crystal oriented film from the specific compsn. for the liquid crystal oriented film and forming the film on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:This compsn. for the liquid crystal oriented film contains a polyamide resin having the repeating unit expressed by formula and polyamide resin other than the polyamide resin. In the formula, R denotes a bivalent residue group excluding the amino group of diamine; X denotes at least one kind of the groups selected from a group consisting of -O-, -O-C(=O)-, -NH-CO-, -NH- and -CH2-; R2 denotes a hydrogen atom, 1 to 30C straight chain or branched chain alkyl group or fluoroalkyl group. The liquid crystal display element is produced by using the liquid crystal holding substrate formed with the liquid crystal oriented film obtd. from the, compsn. for the liquid crystal oriented film on the liquid crystal holding substrate provided with electrodes facing the liquid crystal.
