ARTIFICIAL STONE OF HARD SURFACE WITH SOLID PATTERN AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE:To manufacture an artificial stone of superior resistance to scuffing with a solid pattern on its surface and suitable as an interior material such as a wall material by forming a surface hard layer on the surface of a thermoplastic synthetic resin artificial stone and providing the solid pattern with recesses and projections in the range of the layer thickness. CONSTITUTION:As a thermoplastic synthetic resin artificial stone A, a material composed of acryl synthetic resin used as a matrix for an inorganic filler added therein is most conventionally utilized. The thickness of a hardened layer hardened by a surface hardening agent 2a can be set properly in the range of forming a solid pattern 3a with recesses and projections in general, and the apparent thickness after forming the solid pattern 3a with recesses and projections is set approximately 50-200mum. For an emboss film 3 used for forming the solid pattern 3a on the surface hardened layer 2, a synthetic resin film with the solid pattern 3a of recessed and projected shape formed on one face by, for instance, the printing method is used.
