PURPOSE:To reduce current consumption at the time of refresh operation. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a transfer switching circuit 9 which fixes a transfer control signal input terminal of a data transfer circuit 3 at an active level when a self refresh control signal SRFb is at an active level, and supplies a transfer control signal TG from a transfer control signal generation circuit 7 to the transfer control signal input terminal of the data transfer circuit 3 as it is when the signal is at an inactive level. Thereby, charging and discharging at a transfer control signal input terminal of a transfer switching circuit 9 at the time of refresh operation is eliminated.
