SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL STORAGE HOUSE

PURPOSE:To increase a heat absorption efficiency in a dry type spent nuclear fuel storage and to furnish the dry type spent nuclear fuel storage which can store even a spent nuclear fuel of high temperature. CONSTITUTION:In regard to a spent nuclear fuel storage having a construction wherein a storing cell 5 in which a pillar-shaped vessel accommodating a spent nuclear fuel is stored in a vertical state maintained, a warm air collecting chamber 14 which collects warm air warmed by a heat generated from the storing cell, a heat exchange means 9 which absorbs the heat from this warm air and radiates it outside a partition wall and a cooled air circulating passage 12 which leads the air cooled down by the heat exchange means to the storing cell are provided in a space formed in isolation from the open air by the aforesaid partition wall 3, the present spent nuclear fuel storage is made to have a structure wherein a gas having a high capacity of absorption of heat radiation is filled up as a heat medium in a closed loop composed of the storing cell, the warm air collecting chamber and the cooled air circulator mentioned above.
