MOLDING MATERIAL FOR FOAM

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject foam with no discoloration and physical property decline, by incorporating a water slurry of an aromatic polycarbonate powdery particle with a good solvent and specific hydrocarbon-based non-aqueous solvent followed by liquid elimination and drying to effect containing a specified amount of the non-aqueous solvent in the final foam. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, an aromatic polycarbonate powdery particles are incorporated with (A) 1-55wt.%, based on the polycarbonate, of a good solvent such as tetrachloroethane or methylene chloride and then water into a water-based slurry. This slurry is then incorporated with (B) >=0.5wt.% of a hydrocarbon- based non-aqueous solvent 50-170 deg.C in boiling point such as hexane or heptane. The resultant slurry is freed from liquid and dried, thus affording the objective material containing 1500-50000ppm of the component B.
