Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To secure the safety of the whole system at the time of a paper jam accident being generated in an in-line type folding device. CONSTITUTION:A first and a second sheet detecting means 17, 18 are provided upstream and downstream of the folding device 15 of a folding machine, and a third sheet detecting means 19 is provided at the rear end of a carrier table unit 1. When the first and second sheet detecting means 17, 18 detect abnormality, the sheet feeder 3 of a sheet-by-sheet feeding type printing machine is stopped, and the third sheet detecting means 19 confirms the arrival of sheets fit for discharge. The sheet discharge pocket 16 at the inlet of the folding machine is then operated, and the folding device 15 is stopped.
