Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To cope with a malfunction of a measuring instrument by switching control of intermittent aeration to control based on an oxidation-reduction electrometer in an aeration tank, and control based on a prescribed program, in the inside and the outside in a prescribed time zone, in the case purifying sewage in the aeration tank by the intermittent aeration. CONSTITUTION:To the inside of an aeration tank 3, sewage is allowed to flow in from an inflow tube 1, and also, air is supplied intermittently from an aeration device 4 consisting of a pressure air blower 40, a feed air tube 41 and a blower 42, and the sewage is purified by intermittent aeration thereby. In this case, the aeration device 4 is subjected to driving control by a controller 5, based on an oxidation-reduction potential value of sewage in the aeration tank 3 detected by an oxidation-reduction electrometer 8. Also, in a prescribed time zone extending over before and after a start time point and a stop time point of an ideal aeration operation, control of the aeration device 4 based on the oxidation-reduction electrometer 8 is executed preferentially. On the other hand, at the time except the prescribed time zone, control of the aeration device 4 based on a program is executed preferentially.
