PACKING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To make the packing work for products carried out smoothly by a method wherein, after placing the flange of the product on a base plane consisting of the middle part of a cross-shaped board, cushioning pressers are set in place simultaneously with the formation of the outer casing. CONSTITUTION:An outer box 5 is formed from a cross-shaped board 1 consisting of corrugated cardboard or the like and by bending the four planes, except the base plane 2 in the middle, upright from the base plane 2 and then by bending inward each two opposite planes one pair as inner flaps 3 and the other pair as outer flaps 4. In accordance with the outer shape and measurements of a product 8 on a flange 7 as placed on the base plane 2 each of the inner flaps 3 is given an incision 9 in the shape of the letter U without an incision on the side of the base of the flap. The two lateral parts 10 of each of the inner flaps 3 that are contiguous to the incision 9 are bent down toward the base plane 2 and the end part adjoining thereto is bent further so as to form a first cushioning presser 11 which is placed in contact with the flange 7. The two edges framing respectively the two lateral parts 10, positioned opposite to each other, hold the product 8 by the two opposite sides 17 in between, thus serving as second cushioning pressers 12, and the inner end on the side of the forward end of each of the inner flaps is placed against one of the other two opposite sides 18 and serves as third cushioning presser 13.
