Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To reduce a size of a device body, eliminate a need for fitting a lens to a marker sensor, and positively detect a marker irrespective of a position of a thermal head which is slightly separated from or depressed on a platen roller. CONSTITUTION:A marker sensor 10 is mounted on a thermal head arm 6 through a double acting mechanism 50. The double acting mechanism 50 is composed of a rocking lever 51, a journal 52 thereof, and a helical spring 53. The marker sensor 10 mounted on the rocking lever 51 is pressed toward a reflecting part 12 by the spring 53. By abutting the rocking lever 51 on a stopper 60 provided on an ink cartridge C, a distance between the marker sensor 10 and the reflecting part 12 can be kept substantially constant irrespective of a position of a thermal head 8 which is slightly separated from or depressed on a platen roller 2.
