SLIP PREVENTING ROLL FOR STEEL STRIP

PURPOSE:To prevent the slip of a steel strip by securing a large restraning force by forming fine holes at arbitrary positions in the circumferential direction within the steel strip width length along the roll axis direction and carrying out suction from the fine holes, as for a roll used in the liquid in a steel strip process line. CONSTITUTION:As for a slip preventing roll which is used for an input side cleaning device in a continuous annealing line, fine holes 6 are formed at the center part in the roll axis direction within a range not exceeding the min. plate width of a steel strip 3, at a part or plural places or on the whole periphery in the roll circumferential direction. Liquid is discharged from the inside of the roll by a suction pump 10 through a rotary coupling 8 and a suction passage 9 which connunicate to the outside from a suction space part 7 inside the roll, and the steel strrp 3 is press-attached on the roll 1 by utilizing the suction force. Accordingly, independently of the size of a passing plate and the kind of the steel such as hard or soft member, a large restraining force for the steel strip 3 is obtained, and the slip can be effectively prevented even in the case where the plate passes at a high speed.
