Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To stably feed air to an air separator by a method wherein a control function is provided for an air inlet valve to set the opening thereof so that a predetermined flow quantity of purified feed air is always delivered from an air delivery main pipe based on predetermined indications to each valve. CONSTITUTION:A program is inputted beforehand in a control device 7 so that indicating signals are sent to each valve of a pretreatment device 1, i.e., a pair of air outlet valves 32, a pair of first regenerating gas outlet valves 41, a pair of air inlet valves 31, and a pair of regenerating gas outlet valves 42, to set specified valve opening for each of the valves in time series. Each of the valves is set to a specified valve opening based on the indicating signals delivered from the device 7 so that the operation of the device 1 including changeover operation is performed automatically. By the action of a flow controller 8, opening indicator 2b, and guide vane 2a, the quantity of feed air sent from an air feed main pipe 23 to an air separator S is further stabilized.
