OPERATING METHOD FOR GENERATOR

PURPOSE:To achieve an effect equivalent to system interconnection through simple procedure and inexpensive facilities by driving a motor from a commercial power supply when the power load exceeds the maximum output of a generator driven through a prime mover thereby driving the generator by means of the motor in addition to the prime mover. CONSTITUTION:Upon approach of a prime mover 2, a clutch CL1 is closed to enter into operation of a generator 1 and when a rated speed is reached and power is fed to a power load 4, power generation output and frequency are detected through an ammeter 6 and a frequency indicator 7 while furthermore number of revolutions of the generator 1 is detected by means of a rotation sensor 5. When a controller 8 makes a decision that the power load 4 increased over the maximum generation output under generator drive, the controller 8 closes the switch 9 of commercial power supply line. Consequently, the motor 3 is fed with power from commercial power supply to increase rotational speed thereof and when the number of revolutions reaches a predetermined value, a clutch CL2 is closed and the generator 1 is driven by means of the motor 3 in addition to the prime mover 2 thus increasing generation output and feeding power to the increased power load 4.
