PLATE SPRING END PART SEAL STRUCTURE OF PLATE SPRING TYPE SUSPENSION

PURPOSE:To provide the plate spring end part dust sealing structure of a plate spring type suspension securing required sealing function while preventing the damage of a dust sealing member by performing simple and correct centering at the assembling time. CONSTITUTION:The end part 11 of a plate spring is connected to a universal joint part to support a body. The universal joint part is formed of a bracket 12, a joint pin 13, a bearing collar 14, and a ring-shape dust sealing member 20 interposed between the bracket 12 and the outer peripheral surface of the bearing collar 14. The joint pin 13 is then inserted into the end part 11 of the plate spring through the bearing collar 14, and the seal lip part of the dust sealing member 20 is brought into elastic contact with the joint pin 13 to secure sealing function. In such structure, the end face of the dust sealing member 20 is provided with a butt-contact step part 24 coming in contact with the end face of the bearing collar 14 so as to align the axis of the dust sealing member automatically with the axis of the joint pin at the assembling time.
