Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To effectively utilize regenerative energy, to improve fade resistance of a mechanical brake, and hence to improve a brake performance as a whole. CONSTITUTION:Forced-cooling fans 15-18 for forcedly cooling mechanical brakes 5-8 are provided, and driven partly by regenerative power obtained at the time of regeneration. The higher a brake actuating amount and a battery voltage are, the more the regenerative power are supplied to the fans, thereby operating a regenerative brake even at the time of fully charged battery 12 thereby to alleviate loads of the mechanical brakes, and the regenerative energy is utilized to forcedly cool the mechanical brakes, thereby improving fade resistance of the mechanical brakes.
