Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound useful for the production of alkylnaphthalene, etc., in high efficiency and yield by reacting an alkylbenzene with a conjugated diolefin in the presence of a specific catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound is produced by reacting an alkylbenzene (e.g. toluene) with a conjugated diene (e.g. 1,3-butadiene) in the presence of a catalyst produced by dispersing metallic sodium and an inorganic potassium salt (e.g. potassium carbonate) in the presence of a dispersion assistant inert to the reaction (e.g. glass bead and/or alumina ball). An alkyltetralin is produced by the cyclization of the compound. The dehydrogenation of the alkyltetralin gives an alkylnaphthalene. |
