Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make it detectable without installing two units of the same sensor by detecting those of yaw rate, car speed and lateral acceleration, and when this detected value satisfies the specified formula, making it so as to judge a failure, in the captioned detector of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Yaw rate Y is detected by a yaw rate sensor 5, car speed V by a car speed sensor 6 and lateral acceleration G by a lateral acceleration sensor 11, respectively, and these elements are all inputted into a 4WS controller 30 which determines a rear-wheel steering angle on the basis of a detection signal to be inputted, transmitting it to a 4WS actuator 40, and it makes this actuator 40 steer the rear wheels 2. At this time, if a relationship of K.G->=T comes into being between the lateral acceleration G and the yaw rate Y, it is so judged as a failure. IN the formula, K shows a constant and T shows a variable pertaining to the car speed V.
