Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To accurately detect an overcurrent flowing through a switching element of a power supply apparatus in which a load current changes depending on the passage of time after power feeding has started. CONSTITUTION:In an apparatus for controlling power feeding for glow plug, a short-circuit detection circuit 20 is provided to generate a detection signal S1 when a load current I flowing through the glow plug becomes 80A or more continuously for 5msec or longer and decision circuits 22, 24 is also provided to respectively output detection signals S2, S3 when the load current I becomes 60A or more or 35A or more. When the detection signal S1 is being inputted, the detection signal S2 is being inputted continuously for 5sec or longer and the detection signal S2 is being inputted continuously for 25sec or longer with the processing of ECU 10, it is decided that an overcurrent has flown through FET 6 respectively in above timings, power feeding to the glow plugs 2a-2d stops. As a result, the overcurrent can be detected step by step depending on change of the load current I and FET 6 can be certainly protected from the overcurrent. |
