THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTER

PURPOSE:To execute printing correctly by a method wherein the movement of a carriage is delayed, when a printer is operated in a draft printing mode, until input of a plurality of printing data finishes in the case where the timing of carriage movement is included during the process of inputting a plurality of printing data. CONSTITUTION:In a draft printing mode, the thermal transfer printer as mentioned in the title drives a printing head 2 on every 1 dot whenever two printing data are inputted, and drives a carriage-driving motor on timing of the carriage movement that moves on input of every five printing data. In the case where movement timing of the carriage 3 is included during the process of inputting two printing data, the movement timing of the carriage 3 is delayed until the input of the printing data finishes, and the carriage-driving motor is driven accordingly. Thereby, 9th and 10th printing dots of the printing data can be printed on appropriate positions, resulting in execution of correct printing.
