Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enhance the production efficiency of an edible plant by using at least one of minerals having compositions represented by a specific formula as an effective component in an activator of water used in the industrial production of the edible plant. CONSTITUTION:A water activator contains at least one of minerals having compositions represented by formula k(MgO).m(SiO2).n(H2O) (wherein k is 2-7, m is 2-8 and n is 1-2) as an effective component. Further, baked matter of a mixture of at least one of said minerals and aluminum-containing mineral such as alumina, feldspar, mica, bauxite or alum may be used as an effective component. An edible plant such as malt or a kaiware daikon is cultivated using water treated with the activator.
