Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain prominent corrosion resistance against alkali by a method wherein a substrate, consisting of an Fe-group alloy containing Ni, Cr and the like, is provided with a surface layer, consisting of Ni, Ni alloy and the like, on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a substrate 6 of a steam generating heat transfer tube 1, consisting of an Fe alloy and exposed to alkali concentration environment, is coated with a surface layer 7. In this case, the Fe-group alloy is constituted of Ni, 8-40wt.%; Cr, 15-25wt.%; balance, Fe and inevitable impurities: or C, 0.1wt.% or less; Cr, 15-20wt.%; Ni, 8-15wt.%; Si, 1.0wt.% or less; Mn, 2.0wt.%; balance, Fe and inevitable impurities. On the other hand, the surface layer 7 is constituted of an Ni or Ni alloy containing 60wt.% of Ni or more or constituted Cr, 10-40wt.% and balance, Ni and inevitable impurities while the thickness thereof is 200mum or less. According to this method, prominent corrosion resistance against alkali can be obtained.
