STEEL CONTINUOUS UNDERGROUND WALL AND ITS CONSTRUCTION

PURPOSE:To shorten the period of construction as well as reduce the cost of construction by greatly reducing the thickness of wall. CONSTITUTION:A preceding unit steel material 1 inserted into soil-cement line wall 2 continued by partly lapping soil piles 2a and a following unit steel material 1' inserted into the adjacent soil-cement column line wall 2' are connected at their butted ends by a slide coupler 3, Studs 4 and reinforcing bars 5 are set in Cite closed portion formed when connecting the butted ends of the materials 1 and 1' and concrete 6 is placed. The underground wall can thus be utilized as underground outer wall, earthquake-proof wall, or bearing wall because strong resistance can be offered for outer and inner shearing forces. This method can contribute to the construction of buildings having great-scale, great-depth underground structures.
