Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound useful as a herbicide showing a wide weeding spectrum with a small amount. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or R1 and R2 are bonded (CH2)n or n is 2-5; X and Y are alkyl or alkoxy) such as 6-[(N-ethyl-Nmethylsulfonyl)amino]-N-[[(4, 6- dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)amino]carbonyl]-2-pyridinesulfonamide. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a substituted pyridine-based compound of formula II (Z1 is NH2, NCO or NHCO2R3; R3 is alkyl or aryl) with a pyrimidine-based compound of formula III (Z2 is NH2 when Z1 is NSO or NHCO2R3 and Z2 is NCO or NHCO2R3 when Z1 is NH2).
