Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To simply providing an end mark to a thermal transfer sheet at a desired position by providing a signal responding layer to one surface of a base material film and further providing a self-adhesive layer to the surface of said layer or to the rear of the base material film. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer sheet used in the printer of a computer or word processor is formed into a roll form wherein both ends of a long thermal transfer sheet are wound around a paper pipe 2 to be received in a proper cassette. By detecting the end marks 3,3' provided to the terminal end of the thermal transfer sheet 1 by a sensor, it is detected that the thermal transfer sheet 1 is perfectly used. In this case, the self-adhesive tape for the end marks is formed by providing a signal responding layer 5 to one surface of a base material film 4 and further providing a self-adhesive layer 6 to the surface thereof. Pref., a heat-resistance slip layer 7 is provided to the surface of the base material film 4 on the side opposite to the self-adhesive layer 6 and/or release paper 8 is provided to the surface of the self-adhesive layer 6.
